Web 2.0 Tools are web applications that encourage interactive information sharing, collaboration with others, and allow users to change the content located on the site.

Bubblr - is a tool to create comic strips using photos from  Begin searching images and add bubbles to them.  So easy!  Just type a tag (or leave it blank for "me") and press go!

*Cacoo- is a feature-rich collaborative diagram creation Web 2.0 tool. With Cacoo you can draw shapes, type, and drag and drop elements of your diagram. Images can also be uploaded into your Cacoo diagrams. Cacoo allows you to chat with your collaborators in real-time while you work on your diagrams.

Community Walk - is an interface for creating informational, interactive, and engaging maps

*Fresh Brain, provides teachers and students with ideas for technology projects. Graabr lets you grab your screen instantly and share it online.  

Hero Factory lets you create your own hero and write a story to go along with it!  Great Web 2.0 tool!  

Historic Tale Construction Kit lets you create your own stories with rich text and pictures.  

JayCut  Join JayCut's online community to get free access to your own personal video studio. Upload videos, photos and music to create and share new masterpieces.

*MapWing is a free virtual tour tool to use with up to 20 images.  You can share your MapWing tours with others and check out what where they are going too.  Example

*Marvel Squad Comic Creator  lets you create your own comic strips and even comic books.  Example 

Masher is a great, free, tool for creating video mash-ups. Masher offers a large collection of video clips from the BBC's Motion Gallery and Rip Curl video. There is a large music library, an effects library, and a good selection of video player skins. If you don't find content that you like in Masher's library, you can add your own images, video clips, and music clips through the Masher uploader.

MeMoov  is an open source platform that enables YOU to create and share animated videos.  

Mixbook is a fun scrapbook tool.  The cool thing about Mixbook is that it can be collaborative and more than one person can create a book!  It can be shared online.  

MuseumBoxlets you describe an event, person, or historical period by placing items into a virtual, interactive box!

Mypictr - Allows you to quickly cut a small portion out of any picture you care to upload.

Nota  lets you mash your ideas and media together with friends in a dynamic whiteboard wiki. Using photos, videos, and other web content you can instantly create brainstorms, presentations, scrapbooks, and enjoy an interactive chat with more than 50 friends. 

OneTrueMedia mix photos with videos using special effects to create amazing videos.

PdfMyUrl is will take a URL and turn it into a PDF.  GREAT tool!  

Penzu is an online diary and personal journal that is focused on privacy. With a unique and compelling user experience, it makes writing online as easy and intuitive as writing on a pad of paper. You can insert photographs into your journal, email your entries, print, and save in your account.  

Phoenix - a new kid on the block. This image editor has some advanced tools and solid sharing features. Think of it as a middle of the range tool, simliarities to Picnik. 

PhotoFunia is an online photo editing tool that gives you a fun filled experience. You upload any photo and just wait to see the magic. Our proprietary technology automatically identifies the face in the photo and let's you add cool photo effects and create funny face photo montages.

Photo Peach is a new service that allows you to quickly and easily create an audio slideshow, with captions, from images in your Flickr, Picassa, or Facebook account.

Photo Show is a great service for making fantastic slideshow and video presentations. Photo Show allows users to upload their photos or use photos from the Internet to make into slide show which can then be turned into a video. Photo Show users can add text and audio to accompany their presentation.

Phrasr lets you write your sentence and Phrasr finds Flickr images for each of your words. If that image doesn't do, you can select a new one.  

*PIC-LITS  is a creative writing site that matches beautiful images with carefully selected keywords in order to inspire you. The object is to put the right words in the right place and the right order to capture the essence, story, and meaning of the picture. Example

Picnik  upload your own photos and add effects, text, frames, stickers, and much more to them.  Then save and use where you want.  My Posterous has one I created.

Picsviewr turns your flickr photos into awesome presentations.  Choose one of the 10 slideshow templates.

Pixlr - Comparable to Sumo, Pixlr is a full featured image editor. It's very accessible, and if you have experience with Fireworks or an equivilent product, then you'll pick it up very quickly!

Poll Everywhere is a great polling tool that can be used by anyone who knows someone with a laptop or a cell phone they can send a text message from.

Posterous a dead simple blog tool!  It is easy to create, subscribe to others, and send invitations to subscribe to your Posterous too. 

Prezi is a Web 2.0 tool to create awesome presentations live and on the web!

Runpolls is aimed to be used as a tool for adding polls and surveys to your website. The easy to use, intuitive interface, makes it very easy and fast to make your own poll within minutes and post it on your site or blog.  

Save the Words lets users interact with old words that once had a place in our language.  At Save the Words, users can adopt-a-word, spread the word, and register to learn a new word-a-day.

Screenr is a great tool to use with Twitter!  Just click the record button and you will have a ready-to-tweet screencast in seconds!  

Second Life is the internet's largest user created interactive avatar world

Slide creates great slideshow presentations with your own images.  Slide is also easy to share through Facebook, Twitter, and other Web 2.0 applications.  

SlideFinder lets you find the right slides that you need for presentations and learning. 

Slide Rocket is a web based presentation creator similar to Empressr. Slide Rocket has some very nice features like 3D transitions and a collaboration feature for sharing the creation process with other users. 

Slide Sharelets you share slideshows with others through the this tool.  This one is designed for K-12 educator.

SlideSix  is another online slideshow creator that allows users to embed YouTube and Vimeo videos into your presentations. You can also attach documents to accompany your presentations.

Small Worlds lets you meet friends, play games, complete missions, adopt a pet, watch videos, and more!  

Smilebox is a photo service that lets you quickly turn life’s moments into digital creations to share with others or save for yourself.Choose from hundreds of designs for scrapbooking, creating slideshows, and sending free greeting cards, filled with your photos and videos and the music and text of your choice.

Splashup - For more advanced image manipulation, Splashup offers a way of editing images online.

Story Something a mobile platform for personalized and customized children's stories.  Story Something lets you put in your name, family, and even pets.  You can then read and share the stories that are created.  

Storybird are short, visual stories that you can make with family and friends to share and (soon) print. Example

StumbleUpon  helps you discover and share great websites. As you click  Stumble!, high-quality pages are delivered to match to your personal preferences. Rating these sites you like () automatically shares them with like-minded people – and helps you discover sites your friends recommend.

Stupeflix  is a service that allows users to quickly and easily create video montages using their favorite images and audio clips. In many ways Stupeflix is like Animoto, but there are a couple of differences. Stupeflix allows users to drag and drop their images into the sequence that they would like the images to appear. Adding text to the images is easier in Stupeflix than it is on Animoto. Stupeflix offers only one default soundtrack so you have to upload your own audio clips. That said the advantage of Stupeflix is that you can use more than one audio clip within the same video.

Sumo - possibly one of the best web based drawing tools online. It has numerous features, and can be used by beginners as well as more professional illustrators. Oh, and it's great fun!

Tagul creates amazing word clouds!  Each tag in Tagul cloud is linked with an URL and is “clickable” that enables visitors to use it for navigation.

Textanim Web 2.0 lets you generate an animated text picture (gif) with texture in 10 seconds and then share it with the world.

Tinypaste  creates a little paste or url of your message that you write in an amped up text box.  After you have created your Tinypaste you can send it to others or embed it where you wish.  

TodaysMeet  helps you embrace the backchannel on Twitter and connect with your audience in realtime. Use the live stream to make comments, ask questions, and use that feedback to tailor your presentation, sharpen your points, and address audience needs.

Toobla  lets you easily collect, enjoy and share visual bookmarks to websites and other embeddable content (i.e. widgets like YouTube or other videos, photos, documents, games and widget applications).  

Viddix mixes video with the web for a great presentation.  

VideoSpin lets you create a video out of your own pictures, videos, and sound in minutes.  You can post to the web or even into your blog! 

VoiceThread is a great way to talk about and share images, documents, and videos.  

Voki lets you create avatars and interact with others

Wallwisher  lets you build a wall to share ideas, online notices, notes, and much more.  You can add images, music, videos, and pages to your Wallwisher too.  

Wetoku is a great tool to use for recording online conversations and sharing these videos online through your blogs! 

WidgetBox is known as the world's best place to find and make widgets.  

Wix is one of the best website design programs I have seen!  It is FREE and easy to create an amazing, flash-based, professional website with Wix.  

Word It Out creates word clouds out of any text that you paste into the word cloud generator. You can change the text, color, and shape of your word cloud.  lets you create your own biography timeline and map, add your ancestors and view them on a historical map. Interactive Maps, Timelines, Videos, Geocoded Photos, and Museum Artifacts are just some of the features available on

XtraNormal is a unique service that enables students to create animated, narrated movies just by typing the dialogue then dragging and dropping characters and set elements into the movies. There are free and paid plans for using Xtra Normal.

*YouBlisher takes your pdf files and turns them into online flippable pages.  You just download your pdf's and YouBlisher send you the link to your website.  Check out the student handbook example.
