Student Achievements

    The two teams for Odyssey of the Mind won places in the county-wide competition.  Team "Teach Yer Creature" won 2nd place overall in Division II and will advance to the state competition. Team "Earth Trek" won with their long-term problem and won 3rd place overall in Division II. earthtrek2.jpg

    In the Young Georgia Authors contest, Julia placed 2nd in the county for 6th grade and Lexie placed 3rd in the county for 7th grade.

    Congratulations to WJMS Chess Team of Jamarcus and Jordan.  The team won second place in the Middle School division at the ORSCA Chess Tournament October 4th.  Jamarcus took home the 3rd place in the Middle School Individual division.  Photo

    The WJMS Football Team is the 2008 Coastal Region Empire Champions.

    Two WJMS students were honored at GSU during "Southern's Art Extravaganza".  Tricia's artwork called, "Nature, with Haiku" is a non-objective style painting with a Haiku poem.  Andreas' artwork called, "Death in a Web" is in the style of Australia's Aboriginal paintings. Their artwork will be on display in the GSU College of Education building for the next year.  Thirty students from surrounding counties including Bulloch had their art chosen for the event.  Many dignitaries along with Senator Hill were on hand to present them with their certificates.  Trisha's Photo  Andreas' Photo
